The Federation That Already Came to Georgetown Convened Argentina in September and Malaysia in October

The International Road Federation's 13th Caribbean Regional Congress reached Georgetown in July. Since then, the same federation has convened Latin America and Asia-Pacific — a worldwide rotation that Beyond the Wheels 2.0 already sits inside.

In July 2026, the International Road Federation held its 13th Caribbean Regional Congress in Georgetown — the event La Caribeña News has already reported feeds directly into Beyond the Wheels 2.0, and the one IRF's Magid Elabyad cited directly when he spoke on road investment and prosperity. That connection is not a one-off. It is one stop on a federation that runs the same conversation, region by region, all year.

Two more stops since Georgetown

On 15–18 September 2026, the IRF's 7th Latin America Regional Congress & Exhibition convened in Mendoza, Argentina, drawing more than 1,000 delegates from across Latin America and beyond for four days of dialogue on artificial intelligence, smart mobility, intelligent transportation systems and road safety. A month later, on 13–15 October 2026, the IRF's 6th Asia-Pacific Regional Congress — held jointly with the 13th Malaysian Road Conference & Exhibition — brought more than 1,000 participants from over 30 countries to Kuala Lumpur, under the banner of driving innovation for resilience, safety, sustainability and smart mobility.

Georgetown in July. Mendoza in September. Kuala Lumpur in October. Same federation, same core subject — road safety, asset management, intelligent transport systems — three different continents in four months.

What that rotation means for March

Each IRF regional congress is independently organised and addresses its own region's priorities; none of this implies that IRF runs Beyond the Wheels 2.0, or that the Summit is an IRF event. What it does mean is that the federation whose Caribbean congress already reached Guyana this year is, at the same time, running comparable conversations on the other side of the world — a reminder that the questions Beyond the Wheels 2.0 puts to Guyana on 9 and 10 March 2027 are questions being asked everywhere roads carry people and goods.
