The Road Safety Calendar Between Now and March: Nairobi, Mendoza, Kuala Lumpur, Washington, San Antonio — and Georgetown

Road safety and transportation gatherings are convening on every continent between now and next spring. Beyond the Wheels 2.0 is Guyana's own stop on that calendar.

Published 30 October 2026 · Beyond the Wheels 2.0

Beyond the Wheels 2.0 does not convene in isolation. Over the five months leading up to its own dates, a run of transportation and road safety gatherings is taking place on four continents — none of them organised by Clarke’s Productions Inc., none of them affiliated with the Summit, and all of them asking some version of the same question Beyond the Wheels 2.0 asks in Georgetown.

October to January

The sequence opened close to home: the Caribbean Shipping Association held its 56th Annual General Meeting in Georgetown from 25 to 28 October, the first time the region's shipping body has met in Guyana. The International Road Federation, whose own Caribbean congress reached Georgetown in July, spent September and October running its Latin America and Asia-Pacific regional congresses in Mendoza, Argentina and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In November, Nairobi hosts the Africa Regional Road Safety Conference, bringing government, development banks and road policing agencies to one table. In January, the Transportation Research Board's Annual Meeting fills Washington, DC with more than 13,000 transportation professionals — the largest gathering of its kind anywhere.

Then March

By the time Beyond the Wheels 2.0 opens on 9 March 2027, the Lifesavers National Conference on Roadway Safety — one of the established models Clarke’s Productions Inc. looked to in shaping the Summit's own format — will have just closed in San Antonio, Texas, three days earlier. Georgetown's own two days follow immediately after.

Shipping in Georgetown. Roads in Mendoza and Kuala Lumpur. Safety in Nairobi. Research in Washington. Roadway safety in San Antonio. Each independent, each on its own continent, each landing within five months of the other — and each, in its own place, answering the question Beyond the Wheels 2.0 answers in Georgetown.

Guyana's stop on the calendar

On 9 and 10 March 2027, Beyond the Wheels 2.0 convenes at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre, Georgetown — government, fleet operators, insurers and chambers of commerce, across nine tracks, closing with a National Road Safety Declaration. It is not a replica of any of the events above, and it claims no partnership with any of them. It is Guyana's own entry in a conversation that, this season, is happening everywhere.
